Ekaterina Vasilyeva is a Russian photographer from St. Petersburg who is working at the intersection of two genres: documentary photography and art photography. After years of working in the tourism industry, she became active as a photographer in 2010. In most of her projects, she explores the theme of place, focusing each time on a particular place (the space, the territory, its changes in the context of time and historical landmarks, environmental problems, interaction with human activity, her personal relationship to it, and the myths of the place).
